Brain-derived neurotrophic factor, nerve growth factor, and high sensitivity C-reactive protein levels in urine in overactive bladder patients: a meta-analysis

چکیده

Background: Overactive bladder (OAB) is a clinical syndrome characterized by combination of symptoms including urgency, frequency, and nocturia, with or without urinary incontinence. has high prevalence especially in those an older age women, diagnosis depending on the patient’s symptoms. This study aims to assess brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), nerve growth (NGF), sensitivity C-reactive protein (HSCRP) urine as biomarkers OAB. Methods: Studies were searched from Pubmed, Science Direct, Wiley Online Library, Google Scholar. All studies assessing BDNF, NGF, HSCRP OAB patients included. The standardized mean difference (SMD) 95% confidence intervals (CI) then calculated. Results: A total 85 included 11,483 subjects (6,885 4,598 controls). Based data analysis results, NGF/Creatinine (NGF/Cr) NGF level significantly higher than control (SMD = 1.00, 95%CI 0.80-1.20, P<0.00001; SMD 1.11, 0.79-1.43, P<0.00001). NGF/Cr was found incontinence (OAB wet) compared dry) 0.41, 0.23-0.60, P<0.0001), decreased after treatment 0.76, 0.49-1.03, Urinary BDNF/Cr controls 1.97, 1.14-2.79, P<0.00001), also 0.75, 0.42-1.08, when 0.38, 0.12-0.64, P<0.004). Conclusions: BDNF/Cr, NGF/Cr, controls, which means they may be used for OAB.

Urinary nerve growth factor levels could be a biomarker for overactive bladder symptom: a meta-analysis.

To examine whether urinary tract nerve growth factor (uNGF) could be a biomarker for overactive bladder (OAB) symptom, we conducted a comprehensive meta-analysis of 8 case-control studies. In all the studies considered, patients with OAB symptom had a higher uNGF level compared to healthy people. In addition, patients had a significantly lower uNGF level after successful treatment. In the subgr...

Effects of psychotropic drugs on nerve growth factor protein levels in the rat brain

Introduction: Psychotropic drugs exert their effects, in part, by increasing neurotrophin levels in the brain. Nerve growth factor (NGF) protein levels after treatment with only a limited number of psychotropics have been determined. The present study was designed in order to evaluate the effects of acute and chronic administration of different psychotropic drugs on NGF protein levels in fiv...

Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) protein levels in anxiety disorders: systematic review and meta-regression analysis

BACKGROUND Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) is a neurotrophin that is involved in the synaptic plasticity and survival of neurons. BDNF is believed to be involved in the pathogenesis of several neuropsychiatric disorders. As findings of BDNF levels in anxiety disorders have been inconsistent, we undertook to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies that assessed BDNF pro...
